Ku-ring-gai Council (NSW) has successfully passed the User Acceptance Testing phase and is now live with Xcellerate IT’s solution for AP automation. Xcellerate IT strengthens its position as a leading provider of enterprise capture solutions for local councils across Australia.

Sydney, 24 November 2010 – Ku-ring-gai Council, one of the most popular councils in Sydney north shore, has now gone live with Xcellerate IT’s solution for AP Automation.

Xcellerate IT was appointed by Ku-ring-gai Council in July 2010 to implement an end-to-end automated invoice processing solution. After a three month implementation project, Xcellerate IT’s solution has successfully passed the user testing phase and is now live within the council’s Accounts Payable (AP) department.

Ku-ring-gai Council receives approximately 40,000 supplier invoices per year. AP personnel used to manually key in data from each invoice into TechnologyOne Financials; information was checked, using calculations and manual verification, and then manually approved.

With many new residents to relocate to Ku-ring-gai, and the general growth across northern Sydney, the Council aimed to create efficiencies in the finance department meeting the growing pressure and increasing volume of supplier invoices and improving customer service.

Using Xcellerate IT’s solution for AP Automation, Ku-ring-gai Council is now able to scan and capture every invoice on the day it arrives; automatically extract critical information with Kofax Capture, validate the extracted data and seamlessly integrate with TechnologyOne Financials and Trim EDRMS.

This will allow us to improve the efficiency in handling paper based invoices. The new solution will enable the AP team and selected users to have access to invoice images against each transaction in TechnologyOne Financials. This will streamline our filing methodology and allow for improved visibility and customer service for incoming calls from suppliers and internal staff members” says Debbie Mullins, IT Business Systems Analyst at Ku-ring-gai Council.

Howard Boretsky, Managing Director at Xcellerate IT said “We are looking forward to building a long term relationship with Ku-ring-gai Council. Xcellerate IT’s solution will enable the organisation to reach its goal by providing greater control and visibility of the AP processes”.

Local councils are a key sector for Xcellerate IT. Ku-ring-gai is the latest council going live with Xcellerate IT’s solution for AP automation. With over 10 councils throughout Australia, Xcellerate IT is a leading provider of solutions to streamline AP processes for local government organisations,” added Boretsky.
