The latest version of Kofax Capture (KC) has been recently released by Kofax and is now available. A new user interface with Microsoft look and feel and web browser support are the main new features. Kofax Capture 10 replaces Kofax Capture 8 which reached its end of sale on August 31st, and will no longer be supported from January 1st, 2013.
Kofax has released the latest version of the Kofax Capture product, Kofax Capture (KC) 10. KC 10 further enhances Kofax ongoing commitment to capturing information closer to the point of origination.
Kofax Capture 10 represents an additional evolution of the Kofax product suite, which now doesn't require a Serial Dongle or USB Dongle to Operate. In addition, the Software now features an improved user interface that better reflects the Microsoft Fluent User Interface Standards.
What's New in Kofax Capture 10?
- Updated the look and feel of the modules. The User interface has been changed to Microsoft User Interface. This uses ribbon interface similar to latest version Microsoft Office. The ribbon bar replaces the old menu bar, the applications menus are accessed by the Kofax button.
- Browser based support: Deploy and update the Kofax capture through the browser. Also support the running of modules within browser. Allows deployment of clients and updates through browsers. The only browser supported is Internet Explorer (7, 8 and 9).
- Batch Filtering: Batch filtering option in batch manager to search for a batch and take action
- Separate user profile management from the rest of an administrative function by allowing or restricting user and group access to the Administration module.
- Enhanced barcode separation. Ability to find barcode with some specific format. This will be find the right barcode if the page has multiple barcodes.
- Field Type values: In administration module, you can rename an existing a field type or select a file that contains a list of values to import.
- Language Packs: use language packs to set the language that is available on your work stations for localised capture version.
The biggest impact for users adopting Kofax Capture 10 will be the new Microsoft feel user interface. When it is timely to do the software upgrade, Xcellerate IT will incorporate the additional training requirement into the Software Upgrade Project.
With the release of Kofax Capture 10, Kofax Capture 8 software will no longer be available. Under the current Software Assurance Agreement, existing customers can be provided with the latest version of the Kofax software license. Support for Kofax Capture 8 will no longer be available from Kofax effective January 1st, 2013. Kofax Capture 8 customers should begin planning and budgeting their upgrade strategies as soon as possible.
